Dr. Temel KOTIL is Turkish Airlines General Manager, Vice Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee. He joined Turkish Airlines back in 2003 as Vice President of Technical Service and was appointed General Manager in 2005. Within the air transport industry Mr. Kotil was elected as a member of the IATA Board of Directors in 2006.  He was appointed as a Board Member of the Association of European Airlines in 2010, as Vice President between 2012 and 2013 and as the Chairman in 2014. On the academia side he established and managed the Aviation and Advanced Composite Laboratories of ITU’s Faculty of Aeronautics and Astronautics between 1991 to 1993, he served as Department Faculty Vice President and as Faculty Assistant Dean from 1993 to 1993 and served as Head of the Research, Planning and Coordination Department of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Then he served as a guest professor at Illinois University. more info

 

 

Yusuf Akçayoğlu

Yusuf Akcayoğlu graduated from Civil Engineering Faculty of the Istanbul Technical University in 1992. Akcayoğlu started his career with the Southern Coast Highway Project in Turkey. After being involved in civil/infrastructure and mixed-use development projects in the Russian Federation for 6 years, he returned to Turkey in 1999 for the New Runway, Apron and Taxiways Project of the Istanbul Ataturk International Airport. He pursued his graduate studies in the US between 2001 and 2004 and holds an MBA degree from California State University.

Akçayoğlu  worked for TAV from 2004 till 2014, starting as GCC Regional Director  then he is appointed  as Middle East Director. Some of the noteworthy projects that he oversaw including the Passenger Terminal Complex of the  New Doha International Airport in Qatar, the Main Contract 1 (MC-1) package of the Development of the Muscat International Airport project in the Sultanate of Oman, Midfield Terminal Building at the Abu Dhabi International Airport, King Khaled International Airport in Riyadh, Damac Towers by Paramount consisting of 4 towers, 54 floors each, and the 101-storey 425 meters record tall Marina-101 Hotel & Residences Tower in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Yusuf Akçayoğlu joined İGA İnşaat in December 2014 and currently holding CEO position for İGA Airport development.

Pablo Mendes de Leon maintains a vast range of memberships in organisations that work to combine law and practice of aviation law and policy. For instance, he is President of the European Air Law Association, Visiting Professor at the National University of Singapore and the University of Bordeaux, France, a judge at the District Court of Haarlem, Membre titulaire de l’académie de l’air et de l’espace, Toulouse, France, Member of the Dutch Aviation Accident Board, a Board Member of the magazines Air and Space Law, Journal of Air Law and Commerce and the Italian ANIA Insurance Newsletter and the Director of the Series of Publications in International Aviation law and Policy with Kluwer Law International. Güliz Öztürk has been working at Pegasus Airlines since 2005. Formerly, she worked for Turkish Airlines for 13 years in various positions like International Relations Manager, VP Alliances, VP Marketing and the last position was SVP Sales and Marketing when she left. During her career there, she launched the first web site and the web sales of the Company. The introduction of the FFP and the co-branded credit card partnership were other important projects she led. Mrs. Öztürk, joined to Pegasus Airlines in 2005, as the Head of Scheduled flights, to commence the scheduled operation as the company was a charter operator at the time. She was the member of the team who has successfully transformed the company from a charter operator into the first and the only LCC of Turkey. Mrs. Öztürk, who is graduated from Bosphorus University, Istanbul, is currently working as the Chief Commercial Officer of Pegasus. more info

Dr. Resat Volkan GUNEL is an Assistant Professor and the head of the LLB- International Law Program at the Near East University – Law Faculty. Since 2015 he has been lecturing International Law as visiting scholar at the IIASL-Leiden University. Dr. Gunel is the author of the book “International Aviation Law in the Process of ‘Open Skies’ Agreements – A Critical Approach” in Turkish. He has been working on Space Mining Law. more info

Dr Robert MAYER is a Lecturer in Air Transport Management, and Course Director for the MSc in Air Transport Management, at the Centre for Air Transport Management at Cranfield University. Robert worked in customer relations at Austrian Airlines, and ground handling at Vienna Airport, before joining academia. His main areas of expertise are airline marketing and economics as well as air cargo. He also lectures on airport ground operations and airline finance. Robert holds a degree in European Economics and Business Management (UAS bfi Vienna), an MSc in Air Transport Management (Cranfield University) and a PhD in Airline Marketing (Loughborough University). Robert is a Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, an Associate Member of the Royal Aeronautical Society, and sits on the Education and Research Committee of The International Air Cargo Association. Dr. Emre SERPEN has over 30 years of experience in aviation industry. He leads Airport practice of Wipro and is, the owner of Troyavi Aviation Consultants.  His expertise include airline and hub strategy and restructuring projects. He lead projects with 70+ Airlines  and including leading hubs  worldwide. In Turkey Emre led restructuring of TK Hub Design with good financial results, the project which also contributed development of 3rd Airport project.  Mr. Serpen had established and led the airline practice of intervistas ICF and Sabre before Wipro.
